I use to work in a boutique ( I quit my job two days ago). Every employee has per 4 pairs of shoes per year as uniform to work with. The contract doesn't say anything regarding them. It doesn't mention the uniform at all. The owner of the boutique told me I could take them. After one year of our talk about taking them, the owner is asking the shoes back because they don't want to Pay the tax! I gave 7 shoes back. The missing one one I don't have it anymore because I gave to a family member. Can they do anything legal against Me? I also suggest to Pay the tax but they refuse it! Thank you!

I don't think anyone here is that conversant with UK law, as we deal with US law.

I wouldn't think them not getting back one shoe would be a big deal. Have they threatened to do anything?
