Mother gone; no estate; bill collectors calling

Mother passed away while in a nursing home. She had only dad's social security and military pension when she entered the home and medicaid took over that. There is no estate. But she had bills, and they are sending letters asking for her death certificate and information on her estate. Am I required to provide all or any of this to them?
