My daughters father has never had any involvment with her. Over the past 2 1/2 years I've continued to send him pictures, letters and invitations to meet her and he has never responded. Finanally this past Sept we went to mediation and I was granted child support however since then it has to my attention that the financial information he supplied was not correct. In Oct I filed a motion to modify with accurate information (which I now have proof of) and to deviate from the quidelines due to the fact he has never even met our child and he recently testified in another court case that he never wants anything to do with her. About a week after I filed the papers and had him served, I lost my job. I had inteded on self-representing however now he has retained an attorney and of course is contesting everything. Now custody/share-time is becoming an issue. I'm afraid my temporary unemployment will become an issue.
I have always wanted my daughter to know her father but not only has she never met him or his family but its come to my attention that he and his mother are mentally abusive to his other daughter in regards to her mother/his ex. He has a long documented history of both violence and drug abuse and lives in his mothers house.
I'm not quite sure where to go from here, I feel I need a "shark" to represent me in order to get what I came for however I do not have the finances to do so right now........

I am not sure what you want but as a father he has rights. If you did not want him involved at all its not a good idea to ask for more child support. Now you'll need to get an attorney or see if you 2 can work something out. What do your state guidelines say he should be paying? The fact he lives with his mom will probably not matter. You can see if you qualify for legal aid but you will not be able to deviate outside of what the guidelines say, especially since ou are not employed. If your state uses both parents incomes then an income will be calculated for you.
