Modification of Visitation

My daughter has been divorced from her ex since March 2008. She has sole custody of her daughter who is 2 years old. She got remarried to a wonderful man in June of 2008. Her ex will be behind on his child support for 1 month in about 10 days. He had visitation last weekend and took the baby to Pigeon Forge, TN. In the court papers it states he has to provide a number and address of where he is staying. Well he lied and would not give her any information. The baby got sick and his girlfriend who works at the hospital had some medication called in and it was not approved by the insurance. They were not willing to pay the $95.00 to get the medication, so they called my daughter and she had to call the doctor to get a generic which was what is allowed on then insurance unless there is no generic available. My granddaughter was with them from Friday morning which my daughter allowed him to pick her up early until Sunday night at 6:00 pm and my daughter was trying to reach him by phone and he said he was not bringing her back until the next day so my daughter took the police and drove 4 hours to pick up her daughter. Her lawyer said he was in contempt of court and the baby's eyes were swelled so bad that my daughter could barely see her eyes. She called her pediatrician the next morning and got an afternoon appointment. She let them know what she was giving her and by that afternoon she had given her the eyedrops twice and the swelling went down alot. The doctor said they must have not even given her the drops while she was with her dad.
She has had problems with him from day one but this was the last straw so she either wants to have the custody modified so he can only have supervised visits or she wants him to give up parental rights and she will not ask for child support. Does she have a good case.
