I am an American. My wife is Canadian. She became a U.S. permanent resident in Feb '07. She left me in August '07 and moved back to Canada. She has not returned and we are still legally married. She is now preparing her Canadian taxes for '07 and '08. Her accountant says I need to submit my income from those two years. All of my income is from the U.S. I do not have permanent residence in Canada nor have I ever earned a penny in Canada. Two questions:

Legally what do I have to provide? W-2's? 1040?
What if I refuse?
How will my income affect her taxes? I earned about 70k last year.
Is it possible that the Canadian gov't will attempt to collect taxes from me?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
steve
