I am self-employed and recently filed for unemployment benefits. I answered "NO" on question 6 when I should have answered YES since I did have one client paying me weekly. I didn't realize my mistake until after the I got an email telling me my claim was funded. It's about 10 weeks worth since I filled out the forms all at once. I tried desperately to cancel or change them but it was too late when I realized my error and the system had already marked it as "paid". I have no intention of keeping this money, if and when I receive it. I did call them and was told a "specialist" will need to contact me but was unclear as to when. I want to know if there is something more I can or should do. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you

Keep a complete record of what you have done, what the agency has done and said, and if no one contacts you, you contact the agency.

If you had to go in person to correct the error, I'd do that ASAP.
