Hello, I have a family friend that is mildly mentally handicapped. He married a mildy mentally handicapped girl a few years ago with the consent of her parents.
Her parents are now trying to make them divorce saying that they have power of attorney over her. They packed her up and moved her out. She does not want to leave her husband. The couple signed a lease on a house and without her income he will not be able to afford to make the payments.
They are both unable to eat or sleep because they miss eachother so badly Any information will be greatly appreciated. We all reside in the state of Indiana. He lived in a group home close to our neighboorhood growing up. He has no famliy to speak of and my parents have helped take care of him over the years. Is there anything my family can do to help this couple?
