My wife recently passed away with cancer. Am I responsible for her doctors bills? I did not sign any papers or consent to her treatment. My wife was on medicare which paid the majority of her bills and she paid the balance by making payments of $20.00 a month to the doctor. I am retired and on a limited income, and now of course my wife's income has stopped. She took care of her bills and I took care of mine. I don't have the income to pay off her medical bill. What is my responsibility?
