A new employee is getting all the 'perks' of the job from the small employer. Is is legal for one person to get their whole benefits package paid for and not the others? In total there is about 25 employees who pay their full share of cost for the medical/dental and other misc supplemental insurances. This new employee is also getting a gas allowance since he lives out of the immediate area and nearly a six figure yearly income for about the same type of work. we're all scratching our heads about it all.

Is it legal to pay one employee $20.00 an hour, and the boss's daughter gets $500.00 an hour to do nothing but sit in the break room all day?

You betcha it's legal.

It's the American way.

That said, it's not illegal for the boss to pay a bigger benefits package to one employee and make the other 10 employees pay for theirs.
