I have been trying to get custody of my son for 4 weeks now. His mother is on illegal substances and my son goes without food and baths for days. I called Child Protective Services as well as Social Services and both of them said they could do nothing unless he was physically hurt. At this time I have a lawyer and have filed for an Emergency Injunction which has been sitting on a judges desk since July16th and it is now the 24th. If I do not return him to his mother within 48 hours I will be charged with contempt. How are you supposed to protect your child when you have family members from her and my own family, her friends, and strangers from off of the street willing to testify against to her current status. It is almost like me being the father that noone wants to help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
