ok I know everyone reading this is going to think I'm crazy but I just need the legal truth. I am getting divorced, I have 2 small children 3 and 4. My ex and I have agreed to a wonderful 50/50 visitation arrangement..here comes the issue...I have a relationship w/ a 17 yr old ( I know how it appears but in MA this is not a legal issue) however my ex has threatened me that if the 17 yr old is around our children that he will go to court and "TAKE" the kids from me so that I have limited and/or supervised visitation w them...can he really do this? or just trying to scare me? I am in therapy my therapist knows the whole truth and I am not crazy!!!! btw The 17 yr old is wonderful to my children and adores them...what are my legal rights?

The 17 yr old is a minor and it sounds like what you are doing is possible illegal.

On another note, it is a terrible idea to expose your children already to a new partner. So I am not sure if your ex will have any luck in getting more custody, but a 17 yr old should not be around your kids alone. alot of cases of young boyfriends beating their girlfriends children. This is bad judgement on your part but not sure if it will make a difference in court. I would not go around announcing your relationship with a 17 yr old.

I understand your concern and my children would not be alone w him...btw both of his parents have known me previous to this relationship and they are aware of the current situation...I know the actual relat. in MASS is not illegal....but does tis give him a foot to stand on? what can he really do?
