Hello, I have been married for 6 years, my husband has expressed interest in adopting my son as his own. My son is 12 (will be 13 next week) his biological father has not had any dealings in his life since birth. Of course he still has parental rights since he did sign the birth certificate, but has done absolutely nothing for my son. My son lives with me in GA but his bio dad lives in Baltimore. Bio dad is $14,000 in arrears for child support and I am not sure if he even works. Basically what I need to know is what method do I need to take to have his parental rights revoked so that my husband can legally become his father.

You can ask him to do it. Chances are he will, or let him know you will continue to go after him for child support. It is not hard to prove that the adoption is in the kids best interest. He technically has abandoned the child anyways it seems.

I asked him to do it and he went off, babbling about how I moved and he never had the opportuity to do for his son. My son was 6 when I got married. What was his excuse for those 6 years. my husband is in the military as was I when we met so of course I will be moving alot but that has nothing to do with him and his responsibility.
