Cdwjava I am 19 she is 16. We have not slept with each other. We are very careful about the law and we both agreed to wait. Of course there are urges but we will not be with each other in that way until it is legal. Also thank you for your response.

Okay, well, while such restraint is admirable, keep in mind that while underage sexual intercourse is not a registerable sex offense in CA, much of the associated activity IS! So, if you have engaged in anything beyond a stolen kiss and holding hands, sexual conduct can land you in jail and on a Megan's Law registry for life.

As it is, emancipation and marriage is not going to happen. If it's truly "love" it will last until she is 18. And, if she is being abused or neglected, you can help her by meeting her at the police department or youth services (CPS) to act as a witness if you have actually seen any abuse or neglect. Chances are they won't really want to talk with you, but, maybe ...

As stated sex is not the only offense you need worry about. Sexual chat, emails, text, photos etc are all unlawful as well. This is NOT a "safe place" for you and you need to give careful consideration before continuing this relationship
