I had a wedding celemony with my fiance about 6 months ago and we both agreed not to register or to obtain a valid marriage license. No changes to her original last name to my last name.
We do not have any children at this time and I also just added her into my checking account. No documents/license or a prenuptial were signed between me and her.
I need to know if things should go wrong w/ our relationship, what legal right does she has to go after me and my previous assets (real estate, 401K, ETC) or to the properties without her name on the title?
Would this considered as a valid marriage and/or do we have to file for a divorce w/ the county if things should go wrong?
