i have a friend that has an 9 month old daughter. Her husband has been charged with child abuse. She no longer lives with her husband. she now lives with her mother. Cps is saying that the living conditions at her moms house are not safe because she is there. Can Cps make her move out. She can be around her daughter if her mom is around. She has been living with her mom and the baby for the past 6 months and cps is now saying she can not live there any more. Nothing else has happened to the baby that would make cps change there mind so why are they making her move out.

Well, first of all I am not a big fan of CPS because they take children from good parents and leave the ones with parents who are abusive and are guilty of child neglect. I would ask CPS to give a reason why she has to move. If nothing else ask for them to do a family plan which will provide a counselor and parent aide to make sure the child is being taken care of. This will allow her to stay with her baby. Tell her good luck and I hope everything works out. If that does not work, get an attorney that fights CPS and that should take care of it.

Jackson your statements are generalistic, vague, and not true most of the time. Yes CPS has its problems but a vast majority of parents that lose their kids, do so for a very good reason. There are bad cases and base case workers in every jurisdiction. I am a CASA and I know some GREAT case workers and GAL's. There are also a few bad case workers in every jurisdiction. Keep in mind we usually only get told half the story too so e have to figure out what is going on. Today I was in court with my case and the severence was granted and the adoption will be final next week. Both Mom and Dad TOTAL losers. Baby born drug exposed. Neither parent followed any case plan at all. Dad voluntarily terminated his rights, Mom has been MIA the whole case. The baby is being adopted by a wonderful foster family. By the way this took 14 months. The baby is right where he belongs. In a nice home and not being raised by meth heads. Again, there are bad cases too. The Baby P one in England is just heartbreaking.

To the OP-why is CPS saying that grandma's house is not safe? Can you give us more information?
