i designed a logo and interface for a client several years back. there was no contract, or transfer of copyright. client has since sold their company for a large sum of money.

do I have still have copyright ownership? as it was done while I was working for hire, I'm not quite sure.

thanks,

How did you protect the copyright?
Did you obtain the copyright in your name?
Do you own the logo?
You did this without a contract, and now the company has been sold.
Therein lies your problem, if you now wish to assert ownership and control of the logo.
What are trying to accomplish?

More than likely, the logo has become the property of the company.

Ditto on Army Judge's questions. Let me ask you this - why should you even think you have a right to ask for money after you were paid for a work of authorship? What did the company get in return for its payment if not the rights to its own logo? The right to 'rent' it?
