Hi, I recently moved into an apartment with my roomate. It took us 3 weeks to get a lease. I made the mistake of being anxious and signing the lease w/o my roomate. The manager told me it would be ok if we signed it at seperate times w/o each other. My roomate was not happy. So, I tried to get a new lease, but my landlord won't do it. The landlord will not speak to me directly. The manager said she would scratch my name out on the lease and let my roomate sign it. I don't understand why, but i was thinking if i got her to scratch out my name, and then said we wanted another lease, that would work. I would keep the copy(not scratched out). What are the legal implications of this? What can I do?
