No, the law doesn't keep him away from you.
His status as a parolee allows the authorities (his parole agent) to order him to stay away from you.
Parole is simply another form of incarceration, and it is an extension of his prison confinement into the community.
He can obey his Parole Agent, or risk being revoked and returned to prison.
I suggets you help him to learn to live within the laws and rules of civilized society.
