My husband and I live in TX; he has a 14 year old son who was born in MS with his mother. She requested that the child live with the father, because of past behavioral issues. The child also prefers the living arrangement here in TX.
As of May this year, he has been living with us and going to school in TX. The mother does not want to discontinue the child support, even though the child is living with us. We want the child support to stop; but not at the risk or well-being of the child.
