Internal Job Openings and the company ignores my application.

I have worked for the same company for 5 years now. I have moved up as far as I can go. The next step would be branch manager or assistant branch manager. When the branch manager of my store re-located , he told me to apply and that I was the best for the job. I sent my resume via fed ex to hr.. gave a copy of it to the hiring manager and they wouldn't even interview me? Now once again I have applied for another branch manager job and they ignored me once again. What Can I do?

Stay where you are or send your resume to other companies. There is nothing illegal in your company's actions or lack of.

The company is not obligated to interview you, no matter how well suited to the position you might be.
