Back in January I won a judgement against me ex-landlady - who did not return my security deposit - about 4000$. I have been sending Info Supoenas all over the place and thought I had a chance of getting some recovery when her ex-husband informed me of an escrow account she had with a lawyer at a big firm here in NYC.
So I sent him a supoena. He returned it to me quickly, refusing to answer ANY of the questions, claiming "attorney/client priviledge". Can he do that? What action can I take? This is the only source of money I know of for her. I am sure she is not keeping an account at any banks to hide her finances from me. So is it legal for this lawyer to refuse to respond to the info supoena? Please help if you can....I am at my wits end on this one.
