I Need information on residency

My wife left and we most likely are getting divorced, I need to know more about residency if she files first in a different state what may happen.

Should I file first and who get primary custody of the children.

She left us basically abandon us to go on a trip to las vegas with her family even though we could not afford to. She had the choice to stay and chose to go anyways.

So any help would be helpful.

She will most likely have to file in your state though, because that's the children's residence. Any questions of custody and support will be decided by the state the children live in.

Also, going on a trip is not abandonment.

It's hard to say who will get primary custody with so little information. Maybe neither would get primary. You could end up with shared parenting.
