I need help quickly

My kids were taken by dcs. I really need some help and advice on how to deal with this. I had a friend they could have stayed with but there was some allegation made against her husband which he passed a lie detector for and there three kids that live with them currently. Since there was no one "suitable" they put with a foster family and now I have to go through their entire process to get my kids back. I don't understand why there are kids in their custody but mine couldn't stay with them. Can someone please help me.

I'm not sure if I've arrived at the correct forum but i couldn't locate one specific to what I'm dealing with. Is this an ok place to ask questions regarding DCS? I really need some help.

Even if your children had been allowed to stay with this friend, if they were taken by DCS and placed at the friend's home in foster care, you would still have to jump through the hoops set in place by DCS. And there can be any number of reasons why they would not have been permitted to stay at the friend's. It could be that DCS was not satisfied that the children would be safe from the circumstances that caused them to be taken in the first place (this is often the case if there are allegations of abuse or neglect and close family or friends are the potential foster families). It could also be that the family in question did not have the proper number of rooms or facilities to house your children. There are rules for foster care regarding the number of children in a room, whether they can be shared rooms, etc.

If you can, engage an attorney to help you through this process. In the meantime, find out what steps you need to take to get your children back and start following them. Ultimately, the goal will be for family reunification. The ball may be in your court. Do what is asked and you should get your children back sooner rather than later. But, at least consult with an attorney experienced in Family Law and DCS matters so you can get some idea of what you are up against and the process to be followed.
