My jurisdiction is: Nevada/Arizona
I need advice on this situation... A little background info. I am 20, and moved out when I was 15. My parents live in Nevada and I live 2 hours away in Arizona. My parents had this terrible habit of picking on me about everything, imposing ridiculous rules that were impossible to adhere to, screaming at me on a daily basis for nothing, and treating me as their private Cinderella. They havent outgrown these habits, and while they do not behave this way to my 18 year old sister "Brittany", they do to my 15 year old sister "Chelsea". They've even gone so far as to make Chelsea clean up messes Brittany has made while Brittany plays video games or watches tv. Needless to say, Chelsea has had enough. She calls me on a daily basis crying her eyes out because she doesn't understand why my parents are so indifferent to her feelings. She has laid her cards on the table and told them how self concious they have made her, and how miserable she is, and they have laughed at her and told her to move out if she doesn't like it, and now Chelsea is taking them at their word. She wants to move in with me, and I have no problem with that. However, she has 3 more years of highschool left, and I would need documents stating my guardianship/custody of her to enroll her in a new school. Is there a way to gain guardianship of her without my parents approval?? *My mother is very vindictive and will probably refuse to give the approval* It's breaking my heart to see my sister suffer in the same way I did, and I want to do everything I can to get her out of this situation... Any advice?? Thank you in advance for your help!!!
