I have 4 kids, ages 13,11,8, and 6 years old. I am on all of the birth certificates, but we were only married for the birth of the last two children. We seperated and finall divorced 2 years ago after she had cheated several times. During the divorce I had requested DNA testing but the court wanted me to pay to have all 6 people tested since I was on the birth certificates. At the time I could not afford to pay for the testing so I let it go even though I had doubts reguarding paternity.
I have since married and have been trying to have a child with my new wife. We recently went for fertility testing and discovered that I am not fertile, and for us to have any chance of having a child of our own we would have to have fertility treatments done. Needless to say this has been hard to deal with knowing that I had doubts reguarding my children before. The doctors cannot say when I became infertile or if I ever was, they also have a hard time believing that I have fathered 4 kids and now i can't. My ex is currently having my support order reviewed to be changed and they want to double how much I have to pay each month. She keeps the oldest child from coming to see me and she is trying to get the younger 3 to come less and less. I have requested a hearing reguarding the support order. I would like some advice on whether I would still be held liable to pay support if the children are not mine because I have heard that since I have been the father to this point I would still be held responsible for support since I have been paying up to this point. Is this true? If the children are not mine and I am still responsible for paying support and it doubles like the order is stating then I would not be able to afford to have a child of my own and I don't think that would be fair to me, and their biological fathers would get off scott free.

after all this time, i seriously doubt you can challenge patenrity. you have been thier father all these years. the time to challenge paternity was when the kids were born. its probaly too late to do anything about it now. they are your children, and you are responsible for supporting them.

Depending on what state you are in, it is highly unlikely you can challenge paternity this late in the game. This is why all men should get their kids DNA tested after the birth. You just never know.

It is possible you fathered all or some of the children. If you are the legal dad then the DNA doesnt matter and you are still entitled to visits otherwise mom is in contempt. I suggest getting an attorney, especially one htat does fathers rights to make sure you are not getting hosed here. You might want to google the laws on disputing paternity in your state to see what you find. Most attorney's will give you a free or low cost consultation.

Also, you already have 4 kids, do you really ant anymore? If your ex gets child support increased, it probably will not be reduced just because you go on to have another child. You are free to push for more parenting time with the kids, that might wipe out any increase in support.

She cannot keep the kids from visiting. Also make sure the courts are imputing an income for her as well. She may only qualify for an increase if you have had an increase in income.

Good luck, please see an attorney.
