husband cheated before and during marriage

I am seeking legal advice in behalf of my sister-in-law who is not computer-savvy. My brother-in-law and her were married a year ago in the state of Minnesota. Currently they are lliving in California. He was found out to be cheating on her since prior to the marriage and is still cheating at this time with a much younger woman. He has verbally informed her that he does not want to live with her and is planning on seeking a lawyer for divorce proceedings next week. He had borrowed money from her and has not paid her back. She has seeked medical help and the doctor diagnosed her chest pains were from stress. She has just recently found a job and is worried of what her future holds now that this situation happened. What are her legal rights for this situation? should she file divorce papers in Minnesota? what should she do?

Depending on the laws in the state where she would be filing the divorce (probably california) she could possibly get an absolute divorce which is almost immediate instead of going through the whole seperation process! In order to do this though she would need actual proof of the affair or anything else that would be her reasoning for divorce! No matter what she needs a lawyer and the sooner the better! She needs to be carful in protecting herself as well as anything she is gonna need to get away from this guy as well because it is typical in a situation such as this for people to behave in ways they normally wouldnt in order to protect themselves and what they feel rightfully belongs to them!
