My jurisdiction is: Wisconsin - Dane Co

My S-O has had a horrid divorce, there are 2 minor children. Yesterday he received a call from HSS saying there was a complaint filed against him and they were going to come for a home visit next Tues. In order to find out who filed a complaint and what the complaint is about he will have to go to Dane county (we are in a diff co) and pay $80 for paperwork.

There is so nothing going on here. No abuse (except by the ex wife), no nothing just normalcy. They can come check us out they will find and see nothing. I believe this happened because the mother and daughter were fighting a few wks ago and daughter called dad and asked to come here for the night, a night not his. I believe this is retalliation of some sort.

My questions:
1. We are not married and I own the house we live in. What is my position in all this? How can they go after me? How do I protect myself?

2. Is it legal for them to do this? How can a person have an complaint filed and yet have to pay to find what the complaint is?

3. What to do? what to be careful of? Who can protect he and i?

Thanks in advance
