How Do I Get Out

I've been legally separated since last October when I was served divorce papers. We have an 8 year old who we are still going to court for joint custody over. The financial declarations from both respondant and defendant are the only papers filed so far and I was told today by the court clerk that there are still more forms that need to be filed before we're legally divorced. The legal representation in this matter on both sides seem to be taking their time and are not sensative to the need to be divorced. We have no property, business or assets that need to be divided. How long is this going to really take to get divorced? What other options do I have?
