In the State of Indiana, can an employer reduce, an employees hourly wage for poor performance ? There is no change in the employee's department, position, or duties after the wage reduction. There is no set pay scale. An employee's wage is set when they hire in. Please, let me know if you need more information. Thanks

As long as the wage reduction does not fall below the minimum wage as mandated in the FSLA (aka Minimum Wage Law) or a state approved living wage, an employer can reduce the pay as he/she deems necessary. Good Luck!
