I lived and worked as a manager at a motel that had several city health & safety code violations as well as a few redtagged rooms. The hotel owner failed to meet the citys deadline. Unfortunately, the city ended up shutting down the hotel for repairs and renovations. As a result of this my family and i have become displaced.
I read the paperwork the city officials posted up at the hotel, and if i recall correctly....The landlord was responsible for either paying for a motel or if the repairs would take longer than 30 days or so then he was to put me up in an apartment and pay the rent for 2 months, as well as pay for movers and all expenses such as the rental of a uhaul. The landlord did none of the above! My question is can i sue the owner?
