Florida case
I recently had a court hearing for full-custody & contempt of court for non-payment. My x did not show up for court & was held in contempt. He was picked up & put in jail based on the contempt of court charges. He is over $13,000 behind in child support. The judge released him under the stipulations that he pay only $100.00 by 10/10 and that there were no other terms. He has managed to hire an attorney with the money he should be paying in support. She has filed an objection on the grounds of "excusable neglect". My x wrote the wrong day on his calendar. I did tell the judge right when I got there that he had missed the court hearing and that he had told me he marked the wrong date on his calendar & he had planned to be present. I am trying to find an attorney, but can't afford one since I am the only one supporting our two children. Is there any way to have this objection thrown out or to keep the hearing results the same without an attorney? Is excusable neglect valid if he just wrote the wrong day down? Does anyone know of a lawyer in central florida that would be willing to help me?
