We took a vacation to Florida from Michigan, we got to Woodstock Georgia and our car started mifiring took it to O'riellys to have it scaned came back as misfire cylinder 3 so we took to local shop in Woodstock GA and they told is it needed a tune up plugs and wires, so we had them do it, cost about $360 for parts and labor, when all said and done they started the car and it was making a loud knocking noise,at first mechanic said something must have fell in the motor so they took the car over night and rented us a room in Woodstock GA (103 dollars), the next day got a call from the shop saying the washer fluid nozzel fell inside the motor, so manager said they would talk to owner and find out what they could do so decided to rent a car and finish our vacation because they said if it was their fault they would reimburse us for the rental car, now they are telling us it is our fault, they said a valve is not seating and that's what is making the noise and now they are not taking responsibility for their actions, now we are standard in GA after vacation with no way back home, we are trying to figure out what we are able to do about the situation, we have had other mechanics in Michigan work on the car before we left and they said there was nothing wrong with the vehicle and there is no way we could have drove it from Michigan to Georgia with a bad valve...is there anything we can do or are we just at a loss and have to be stranded?

Your immediate options are few.
Your legal options could be a lawsuit, but that is time consuming.
You can tow the car back to Michigan.
You could have it repaired when you get home.
As far as suing the garage, that can only be done in Georgia.
It might be best to seek a compromise with the garage.
Ask for $500, $1,000, or your rental car reimbursement, uhaul truck rental and tow dolly expenses, plus $200 for gas and lodging to get back home.

It's easier to settle, if the garage is willing.
Otherwise, you pay for your trip home and forget it.
You can't force the garage to do anything because you say so.
Sometimes you must beg, if you want help.
