Guardian Ad Litem is a joke

My daughter is being investigated by CPS for statements she made in the hospital about her fears of developing post-partum depression because of her history of depression and bi-polar disorder. On June 9, 2008, a Guardian Ad Litem was appointed for my newborn granddaughter. It is now July 14 and we have had absolutely NO contact from said guardian ad litem. How is this person supposed to "represent the interests of the child" and make recommendations to the court regarding the child if she's never even TALKED to us? She's made no visits, no phone calls, no correspondence, nothing!
