What can I do about having visitation with my grand-kids on weekends and holidays. The mother has cut off all contact, since getting with another man. They have not been able to talk to me since early last summer.

I would seek the advice of an attorney. Some states allow the Grand parents visitation some do not. Generally you should get to visit when your son has the children.

Grandparents do not have an inherent right to visit with their grandchild/ren. In some cases GP's have STANDING to sue for visitation if it is determined that it is in the CHILD'S best interest to have that relationship. Generally it would involve GP's that have had a long and healthy relationship with their grandchild. IF you were to sue and actually win the case you would not be awarded "weekends and holiday's". You MIGHT get a few hours on a Sunday once or twice a month. Taking this to trial will cost you $20-$30 thousand dollars and if you lose count on the Mother NEVER allowing you to have contact with these children again.A GPV suit is an aggressive, intrusive, alienating and financially debilitating move to make against a parent and should only be considered in EXTREME circumstances.

Tell your son to bring the child/ren over on HIS time and if he has not gone to court to seek a custody order, your money would be better spent helping him do so.
