I am a grandma that has had her granddaughter ripped out of her life! Lets start at the begining:my daughter was arrested for shop lifting and got sentenced to jail time of18 months.During this time she gave birth to a lovely granddaughter named stormy.I was there at birth and the father wasnt nowhere around and I had stormy for over three months till wed of this week .I had two statements that gave me custody while the daughter was in jail and they were notorized.But I allways let the other grandmother have visitation whenever she wanted it. Which was ussally from wed to sat. At which time she would bring the baby back.(so she can party and get stoned) This past wed when she took stormy I was told about a court date the next day that was supposed to be about paying child support..which it wasnt. My daughter called me saying there was a arbitration goin on and that they were saying bad things about how I was raising stormy. Well I showed up and they said they would rather have a judge rule on this and they left.I tried to get stormy back and the father came out of the trailer hollering at me tellin me to get off of the property. I tried everything the police say its a civil matter and they cant get involved and social services said they will switch everything over to the fathers name.The arbitraiter said that he told them things were to remain the same till court but he aint allowed to get involved or even call social services,but he thinks its for the money and to keep the daddy out of jail.
You see the father was banned from the grandmothers house for stealing.He lived anyplace he could for over a year(why my daughter got involved with him I dont know!) He was also put in the hospital two weeks ago for accidental overdose. At the arbutration the grandmother stated that she was tryin to keep her son out of jail because of back child support.Which is what this is all about. He is a known drug addict and the police know the house as a drug house,but they have no proof of it.Now my granddaughter that has bonded to me is in a drug house and I cant get her out and bein a grandparent the most that can happen in my favor is to get visitation for 2 hrs 3 times a month.
How fair is that ? What if he had her with him when he passed out he layed in that bathroom for over three hours ...please help me ...give me a direction to go....Im on social security and I dont have any money but I gotta do something if that means I dont eat ....please,please help!!!!
