Getting a percentage

I have an idea that would expand the business of two different companies by bringing them together to provide consecutive services. It happens all the time in the business world, but I am not versed on the procedures or methods of protecting my intellectual property and getting the ball rolling with the two companies. I won't have a problem talking to the parties involved. I simply don't know how to set up the legal aspect of the venture. Who has the savvy to help? I know you are out there.

Note that this kind of work is not done on contingency basis since this isn't a litigation matter involving awards and risk of some kind, e.g. personal injury cases where the attorney gets 33% of the award to the plaintiff.
