GA Same Sex Equivalent Property Separation

I am in Atlanta, GA. My partner and I are separating. He is not on the lease nor has he ever paid one dime of rent. He caused me to lose my job and my apartment. He is gone. Thankfully. However he is threatening to return with police to take what is his. He currently has my car hidden. I want him to have his things. However I of course want my things. Given his history I am afraid he will try to claim possession of my things. What rights do I have? What do I owe him? What is the best defense I can take? Please help ASAP.

Why not box up his things and send them to whatever address he wants? Or just have him pick up the already packed items? If he isn't on the lease, he isn't responsible for rent. If he took your car, file a police report.

You need to go ahead & give him his things. If the car is yours (in your name only) & he will not give it back to you, contact the police & report it as stolen by him.
