So i wore a shirt to a public highschool that exactly says "make love not war" and they are telling me that its promoting sex and that i cannot wear it to school, i wore it to school again and was suspended 5 days out of school. Can they do this?

If there is a dress code in your school, yes, they can.

Were you punished for the content of the shirt, or for the violation of a dress code? If for the content of the speech only, and the shirt is of a political nature, then it may well be protected speech. However, if it has a logo implying sex, or if your school has a dress code prohibiting that sort of shirt, it may well be lawful.

I suspect there is an appeals process that you or your parents can take advantage of. Utilize that remedy.

okay what they are saying for the shirt is that it says "make love not war" just in bubble letters and they say that the "make love" part is promoting sex by telling every1 to have sex
