Recently our basement flooded with 2-3 inches of water from a recent storm we had. We called our landlord and they sent thier maintenance guy out the day after it happened to assess the damages. He called a local restoration company and they came that afternoon and riped out carpet and pad and some of the baseboard. Then they set up fans and dehumidifiers to dry out. We where told that our drywall should be placed with a flood cut up to a foot from the floor because of that threat of mold by the restoration company. However our landlord thinks its fine now thats its dry. I dont think it is. The bottom of the drywall looks rotten and the basement bathroom smells like mold. Not to mention our cralw space in that same level had a foot of water for four days. My question is, is he legaly obligated to replace the drywall and do mold testing?
