Finding CJA - is this the right place to go for what I am being alleged?

I have had someone threatening me that they are going to make allegations about me to the FBI. These allegations and the gas lighting that they have done might be enough to get a Federal Fraud investigation against me and my wife.

I want to talk to someone about my options if this were to occur. How can I find someone that might be able to suggest courses of action I have if it were to happen? I have always been told to find someone to talk to if you suspect you will be investigated for something so serious.

Basically, need to discuss options about suspected coming Federal Investigation into allegations being made. Allegations of actions taken in NM. How/where do I turn to find the type of person I need to address these thoughts?

You should ONLY discuss a criminal indictment with your lawyer.

Don't discuss any aspect of the charge(s) with anyone but your lawyer, or a lawyer you're interviewing in contemplation of hiring.

As far as any alleged charge, do nothing but wait until you are formally charged.

There is NOTHING you can do to prevent being charged at this late date.

Bottom line wait patiently, wait in silence.

If charged and arrested, simply say the following, "I want a lawyer."

It is okay to give your name, date of birth, address, fingerprints, and cooperate with the arrest and booking process.

There is really nothing to do right now until and unless you are contacted by the FBI and notified that you are indeed under investigation. Persons threaten all sorts of things that never materialize. I think you are letting paranoia get the best of you.

But you and perhaps your wife are the ones to know if you did something that could be considered a crime. And since we have no information about a possible alleged crime, we can't advise you what type of attorney to consult with.

I did my job of being deliberately vague in some ways. I plan on not talking about things at this point but I wanted to know how I can find someone that could help. I want to be prepared to know the process.

Generalization now. This is IF someone has a significant health issue that would be greatly exasperated by potential arrest or investigation stress. The person has a history of having this type of happening and needing to be hospitalized because it numerous times.

A "normal" police officer has the choice to make during taking someone in to the hospital or arresting them. Does the FBI have the same choices they can make in a general sense?

The process is use your RIGHT to remain silent.

Talking to anyone BUT a lawyer That represents puts you at a great disadvantage.
You can meet with a couple lawyers, but that would accomplish NOTHING for you or the lawyer.
Until you KNOW that charges and have been indicted, you have NOTHING which you cna talk about anyway.

If you KNOW that you committed a crime(s), again, the best thing you can do is say NOTHING.

The government must prove whatever they decide to charge you with doing.

A defendant needs to do nothing, but keep his/her mouth closed and ears open.

Besides, you indicated you can't afford to hire an attorney, so all you need to do is wait until you're charged because you think you qualify for a public defender.

Again, until you have been charged, the best thing to do is wait and remain silent.

Be aware, that the government might also be surveilling you, following you, wiretapping you, monitoring your electronic communications, tracking your mail, watching your banking transactions, or eavesdropping your conversations.

The time to protect yourself is BEFORE you become involved in any illegal activities.

Once a person begins to trek down the road to crime Crime Town, one will soon find she/he has little choice.

If a person is ill, normally that won't mean the government forgets the matter.

It does mean the person, if incarcerated will receive appropriate medical care.

Therefore, it is best to remain calm, silent, and be patient.

One should always start THINKING before LEAPING!
