This is going to be a difficult, expensive, and lengthy endeavor.

Dad needs to contact an Australian attorney to assist him.

In Oz, they're solicitors.

Anyway, no one will do this for free.

It will cost money and take time!

If the child is with the mother, and the mother is in Australia, the child is likely in Australia, too!

The dad will have to go to Australia and attempt to locate the mother and child.

He would then TRY to establish paternity according to Australian laws.

He'd also have to TRY and establish visitation through the Australian court system.

Finally, he should be prepared to establish child support through the Australian legal system.

Bottom line, locate the child, and bring any legal actions where the child and mother reside; if he can!!!!

Agreed. Dad needs a darned good solicitor in Australia, and he needs to understand that this could become an extremely expensive endeavour. His first move though might be a private investigator in Australia - once Mom and the child are found, hiring a solicitor would be the next step. Hiring one without them being found might simply be lining someone's wallet unnecessarily.
