I have filed in Georgia a joint petition for child support with my husband it is child support only . We have been seperated for some time but he is military and we are not ready to divorce. He is going to deploy and I can't afford the insurance at my job but want to make the child support legal. I called the judges chambers to ask a question and the secretary told me I could file for child support against my spouse . I don't think this is right , we don't live together and haven't for a long time . I also work for the state child support office and we do cases all the time where the parties are still married but I am unsure as how to present this to her or win the argument . Please advise
