father wants to establish paternity

A good friend of mine was dating a girl who was going back and forth between him and another guy. When she found out she was pregnant she told my friend it was his but soon after moved to another state to be with the other guy. She has since had the baby and listed the other guy as the father on the birth certificate but the baby looks just like my friend! If the baby is his he wants to be there for her and be responsible. My question is, is there anything he can do to try and establish paternity even though the other man is listed as the father.

Yes he should contact a Lawyer and file for paternity test

He needs to dispute paternity but there is a short time frame usually involved. He needs to see an attorney in the state the child is on or start googling statutes to see what can be done.
