My court proceedings are already in process for my Family-Child Custody case. We are at the stage of filing our financial statements. I just retained counsel and don't want to continue any further without representation. Can I file an extention for this reason and is a "Motion" the appropriate form for this filing? I found my lawyer online and he will not be contacting me for 3 days.

Sure you can.

Or, you can appear and inform the court you have a lawyer.

Your lawyer is going to need time to catch up with your case.

Why the rush?

Take the time and do it right.

You hired a lawyer.

You should let your lawyer do this.

Too many cooks spoil the broth!
