Legally, how long does an executor have to distribute to the beneficiary any inheritance remaining after all financial matters are satisfied with the estate?
My sister-in-law intends, according to her, to keep her brother's money until he is 80 years old. They both are in their early 50's. She has always been a very controlling person, additionally she said she does not feel that me, her sister-in-law deserves any of the money her mom left. Only two siblings, estate worth about $800,000. I have stayed out of the matter totally, but she feels I coerced my husband in retaining an attorney. Not bad advice as you can see. I rest my case.
You're welcome. She needs to understand that the money is not going to you, it's going to her brother. If she doesn't want to fulfill her duties as administrator, she can be compelled by a court or she can be removed as administrator.
