My husbands ex-girlfriend shows up with her 16 y/o dtr. We knew about her possibly being my husbands, but woman married and moved elswhere. Now she comes back and starts sending emails and calls wanting money to send the girl to college. Girl has "fathers" last name and he has visitation with her every other weekend. Not sure if he adopted her-my husband never signed the birth certificate. She is getting papers from the AG's office to do a paternity test on my husband.
My big question is: Can we be held accountable for 16 years of back support if my hubby did not sign certificate and someone has been her "father" for 16 years and now has visitation after divorcing the mother?? (Mother and "father" divorced and she remarried. During divorce "father" told girl he was not biological father, but he still pays child support and sees kid every other weekend.)
