I was moving out of an old boyfriends home and needed a place to store some of my belongings until i got setteled. During the time which my things were stored this friend had came and assisted me with a flat tire. Which he did on his own accord i never asked him to. Then like a month or so after he did the tire i wanted to get my things. He then told me i could not have it because i owed him $50 for changing my tire. Can he legally do that?

Can he legally do that?

No, of course not.

But what do you want to do about it? Take him to court? That'll cost you more than the $50 and it'll be two months before it gets resolved. Call the police? They'll probably call it a civil matter and do nothing.

If you had called a repair shop or road service company it would have cost you more than $50.

How about using a little common sense and just give him the $50 and get your stuff back.

Some battles just aren't worth fighting.
