I have a contract with a staffing agency middle man that says when he gets paid, i get paid. Of course, the recruiter is claiming non-payment from the client for services I performed. Is this legal and enforceable? What recourse do I have?

Were you a contractor or an employee?

If you were an employee, you can potentially seek help from the labor bureau in the state you performed the work.
(Assuming the state has such an agency!)

If not, the next sentence applies to your situation, too.


Otherwise, you'll have to institute a lawsuit to TRY and get your money.
