I work as a server and I have had money taken out of my paycheck twice for making mistakes while working. The total money taken from me equals to more than 150 dollars. The first time was because a table shorted me about 100 dollars and I had to pay for it and the second time was because a table wanted to put their tab on 3 credit cards...so when I ran the credit cards, I accidently ran one twice. My boss called me and said that he'd delete the card that I ran 2 times and make me pay for it. Is all of that legal?

Some additional info: I work in Plano, TX...I've been working at this place for 4 weeks...I recieved minimal training on how to properly use the computer system for running checks and I'm still very unsure about it.

My last day at this job will be August 16...what can I do to get that money back?

He cannot deduct money from your pay for these mistakes unless you have signed an authorization allowing him to do so.

However, he can fire you for these mistakes.
