Emancipation

I am currently 15 years old and my mother just passed away last December and I had to move in with my father. I barely seen him that much. My father doesnt care about anything but me doing everything for him. All he wants to so is controll me. It seems to me like it makes him feel good. I was really close with my aunt. She was always there for me. He wont let me see her. He threatens me all the time. All I want to do is move out cause all he does is make me cry and depressed all the time. I was talking to someone and they mentioned about getting emancipated. I would really like to do that cause there is no way he would sign me over to anyone. How could I do that? What kind of things would I have to do to do that legally?

The only state that even thinks about emancipating 15 year olds in California. Yu do not mention what state your in.

And even if your state allows a minor to be emancipated (not all of them do) did your "friend" who mentioned it happen to mention that you have to be able to show a judge that you can afford to pay for rent, food, clothes, utilities, transportation, medical care, school supplies and fees, and all the other incidentals of life, while still going to school and getting good grades? If you need help from someone else to support yourself, that's not emancipation.
